(Calgary, Alberta)   How ironic that the 13th man which had helped Saskatchewan to build and hold a lead for much of the game on Sunday ended up costing them the 97th edition of Canada's football championship in the end. The Roughriders took a 17-3 lead into the half capitalizing on the pseudo home field advantage in McMahon stadium seemingly drowning the Alouettes in a sea of green early.  Montreal battled back in the second half however, climbing within 2 late in the 4th after a failed 2 pt conversion.  After a 2 and out by the Riders, Anthony Cavillo marched the Al's down the field lining up a game winning field goal try with time expiring, but when Damon Duval's kicked sailed wide right it seemed like the home crowd would be celebrating long throughout the night, but it was not to be.  An illegal substitution penalty on the Riders gave Duval a second chance 5 yards closer and this time the kick sailed straight through the uprights for the title. The MVP was awarded to Avon Cobourne while most outstanding Canadian went to Ben Cahoon.

The final score was 28 to 27.
