Canadian Soldier Dies Near Kandahar
A Canadian soldier who was getting ready to spend some time relaxing over the Christmas has been killed along with an Afghan soldier by a road-side bomb. The incident occurred near the village of Nakhonay in Panjwaii District, about 25 kilometres southwest of Kandahar city which also seriously wounded an interpreter and is the 134 death of a Canadian soldier since operations began in 2002.
The soldier was Lt. Andrew Richard Nuttall, 30, who was attached to the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Edmonton. The soldier is survived by his mother and father.
