While on his trip to China, Prime Minister Stephen Harper out scooped his own Finance Minister by releasing the fourth quarter stimulus report a few hours before Jim Flaherty (Whitby-Oshawa) was to do so in Winnipeg.  The report states that 97% of the $62 Billion stimulus package has been committed and the report lists tax reductions, EI benefits and federal infrastructure projects as those things supported by the package.

We reported on Monday that Septembers third quarter GDP growth of 0.1% was being seen as an indication that the recession was over.
