David Patterson is not stupid, has given his life to public service as did his father, and doesn't deserve the absurd, destructive politics being visited upon him. His friends and his party have proven to be a miserable lot, and Democrats had better get ready to move back to their old offices. They had an opportunity to lead and they have thrown it away. We can only hope that the anger of the average citizen doesn't sweep out really dedicated public servants in the next election and replace them with fringe lunatics.
