NYT: Paterson's Ethics Breach Is Turned Over To Prosecutors
Gov. David A. Paterson
falsely testified under oath during an ethics investigation into his
acceptance of free World Series tickets last fall, according to the
State Commission on Public Integrity, which announced on Wednesday that
it had asked prosecutors to determine if criminal charges should be
brought against the governor.

So this is the level to which politics has sunk. World Series tickets as the lead story on the front page of the Times. David Patterson is not stupid, has given his life to public service as did his father, and doesn't deserve the absurd, destructive politics being visited upon him. His friends and his party have proven to be a miserable lot, and Democrats had better get ready to move back to their old offices. They had an opportunity to lead and they have thrown it away. We can only hope that the anger of the average citizen doesn't sweep out really dedicated public servants in the next election and replace them with fringe lunatics.
