Obama On June Jobs Numbers
President Obama spoke about the June jobs report while standing in front of Marine One, calling the drop in jobs planned and expected because of the completion of the census. In all, 225,000 temporary census jobs were cut from the payroll lists, while the private sector added just 83,000 new jobs.
These aren't great numbers heading into the fourth of July weekend, although it is the 6th straight month of growth in the private sector, and as such the President announced funding for the expansion of broadband internet access to previously left behind communities estimated to create upwards of 5,000 jobs.
