Case 39 looks to be a suspense thriller with either some supernatural underpinnings, or people who have just gone crazy propelling the story.   

The film was directed by Christian Alvart and stars Renee Zellwegger, Ian McShane (of Deadwood Fame), and Bradley Cooper who has been in recent hits like the Hangover and the movie version of the A-Team.

Zellweger plays a single woman who comes to the rescue of a child whose parents are either dead, or have gone crazy, by taking her home to live with her.  Unfortunately for Zellweger and those closest to her, whatever happened to the kid's parents moved with the child to her new home and is bent on doing the same thing over again.
