Watch: Colbert On David H. Brooks
I had never heard of this particular individual before but apparently David H. Brooks is a defense contractor who used tax payer money to get his wife a face lift, buy porn for his son, and spent a whopping $100,000 on a jewel and ruby encrusted American flag belt buckle.
That might not be enough to to shock anyone, until you hear what Stephen Colbert and the folks over at the Colbert Report discovered about Mr. Brooks on top of all the spending. The bullet proof vests that his company made for American troops had to be recalled in 2005 because they didn't actually stop bullets.
During Mr. Brooks' trial it was also learned that he would hire prostitutes with tax money for his employees in what he called an attempt to improve productivity.
Gotta love the military industrial complex.
